Terms of Service
Plain-English summary: By using jumpin. you agree to these terms. Attendees agree to pay face value for tickets and attend events responsibly. Organisers agree to honour all tickets they sell, keep their events accurately described, and accept that jumpin. deducts a 10% platform fee from all ticket sales. Both parties agree not to misuse the platform.
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using jumpin. — including browsing events, creating an account, purchasing tickets, or creating events — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use jumpin.
If you are using jumpin. on behalf of an organisation or business, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Some features (including organiser accounts and age-restricted events) have additional requirements.
2. The service
jumpin. is an online marketplace that connects event organisers in Ghana with people who want to attend their events. We provide:
- A platform for organisers to list events and sell tickets
- A discovery and purchasing interface for attendees
- Digital ticketing with QR codes
- Payment processing via Paystack
- A door-scanning tool for organisers to verify tickets
- Analytics tools for organisers to track sales
jumpin. is a facilitator, not an event organiser. The event itself — its content, safety, venue, staffing, and delivery — is entirely the responsibility of the organiser who listed it. jumpin. is not a party to the contract between attendee and organiser; we provide the platform on which that contract is formed.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice.
3. Accounts and registration
3.1 Creating an account
You may browse events without an account. To purchase tickets or create events, you must register. When registering, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and update your information as necessary
- Keep your password confidential and not share it with others
- Notify us immediately at hello@jumpin.today if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3.2 One account per person
You may not create multiple accounts. If we detect that you are operating multiple accounts for abusive purposes (for example, to circumvent a ban or to buy large quantities of tickets to resell), we may terminate all associated accounts.
3.3 Usernames
Your username must not impersonate another person, use offensive language, or infringe on any trademark. We reserve the right to reclaim usernames that violate these standards.
4. Terms for attendees
4.1 Ticket purchases
When you purchase a ticket through jumpin.:
- You enter into a direct contract with the event organiser, not with jumpin.
- You pay the face value of the ticket as set by the organiser — jumpin. does not add booking fees on top
- Your booking is confirmed when you receive a booking reference (JMP-XXXXX) and confirmation email
- Your digital ticket is accessible at tickets.html?ref=[your reference]
4.2 Ticket use
- Tickets are for your personal use. You may transfer a ticket to another person only with the organiser's prior consent, unless the organiser explicitly permits transfers.
- Tickets may not be resold for more than face value (ticket touting) without written permission from the organiser.
- QR codes are unique. Each QR code can only be scanned once. Sharing your QR code may result in entry being denied.
- You are responsible for keeping your ticket safe. jumpin. is not responsible for tickets that are lost, stolen, or shared without your consent.
4.3 Event attendance
You agree to comply with the rules and regulations of each event venue. jumpin. is not responsible for your experience at an event, including (but not limited to) the quality of entertainment, venue conditions, or the conduct of other attendees.
4.4 Guest checkout
You may purchase tickets without creating an account (guest checkout). In this case, your only record of the transaction is the booking reference sent to your email address. We strongly recommend keeping that email. Guest purchases cannot be linked to an account after the fact.
5. Terms for event organisers
5.1 Organiser responsibilities
By creating an event on jumpin., you agree to:
- Honour all tickets sold. Every person who purchases a valid ticket through jumpin. is entitled to entry to your event, subject to your stated event terms.
- Accurately describe your event. Your event listing (title, description, date, time, venue, lineup) must be truthful and not materially misleading.
- Notify attendees of changes. If your event changes significantly (date, venue, or major lineup change) or is cancelled, you must notify all ticket holders promptly via email and update the event listing.
- Manage refunds. If your event is cancelled, you are responsible for refunding all ticket holders. See Section 7.
- Comply with all applicable laws including those governing public gatherings, venue licensing, noise regulations, and age-restricted events in Ghana.
- Ensure your event is safe. You are responsible for the safety and security of your event. jumpin. has no control over and accepts no liability for conditions at your event venue.
5.2 Event content standards
Events listed on jumpin. must not:
- Promote illegal activity
- Incite violence, hatred, or discrimination against any group
- Offer sexually explicit content without appropriate and clearly stated age verification
- Constitute fraud or misrepresentation
- Infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights (for example, using an artist's name without authorisation)
jumpin. reserves the right to remove any event listing that violates these standards, with or without notice.
5.3 Attendee data
Through jumpin., you receive attendee names, email addresses, and ticket information. You may use this data only to manage attendance at the specific event for which it was collected. You may not:
- Add attendees to unrelated marketing lists without their explicit consent
- Sell or share attendee data with third parties
- Retain attendee data beyond what is reasonably necessary for post-event administration
Attendee data collected through jumpin. is subject to our Privacy Policy and the Data Protection Act of Ghana.
5.4 Organiser account eligibility
You must be 18 years or older to create an organiser account. By selecting the organiser role, you represent that you have legal capacity to enter into contracts and to organise public events under Ghanaian law.
6. Fees and payments
6.1 Platform fee
jumpin. charges a 10% platform fee on all ticket sales. This fee is deducted from the organiser's gross ticket revenue. Attendees always pay exactly the face value set by the organiser — the platform fee is never added on top of the ticket price and is never visible to attendees.
Example: If an organiser sets a ticket price of GH₵100, the attendee pays GH₵100 and the organiser receives GH₵90.
6.2 Free events
Events with a ticket price of GH₵0 are not subject to any platform fee. jumpin. charges nothing on free ticket sales.
6.3 Payment processing
Payments are processed by Paystack. Paystack may charge its own processing fees, which are separate from jumpin.'s platform fee and are governed by your agreement with Paystack.
6.4 Payout timing
Organiser payouts are processed by Paystack according to their settlement schedule. jumpin. does not hold organiser funds — payments flow through Paystack's settlement system. Payout timing may vary depending on your payment method and Paystack's current processing times.
6.5 Fee changes
We may change our platform fee with 30 days' advance notice. Changes apply to new events created after the effective date. Events published before a fee change retain the fee rate at the time of publication.
7. Refunds and cancellations
7.1 Event cancellation by organiser
If an organiser cancels an event, all ticket holders are entitled to a full refund of the face value they paid. The organiser is responsible for processing refunds. jumpin. will assist in facilitating refunds through Paystack where technically possible but is not the guarantor of refunds.
The 10% platform fee is non-refundable to the organiser in the event of cancellation, as it covers the cost of providing the ticketing service up to that point.
7.2 Event postponement or significant changes
If an organiser changes the date, venue, or materially changes the event content after tickets are sold, affected attendees are entitled to a refund upon request. Organisers must clearly communicate any changes and offer a refund window of at least 7 days.
7.3 Attendee-initiated refunds
jumpin.'s default policy is no refunds for attendee-initiated cancellations, as this is a typical industry standard and tickets are considered sold. Individual organisers may offer more generous refund terms, which will be stated in their event listing. Any organiser-offered refund policy overrides this default.
7.4 Duplicate purchases
If you accidentally purchase tickets twice for the same event, contact us at hello@jumpin.today within 24 hours. We will work with the organiser to arrange a refund of the duplicate purchase where possible.
7.5 Payment failures
If your payment fails after initiating checkout, no ticket is issued and you are not charged. Pending orders that are not completed within 30 minutes are automatically cancelled.
8. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to use jumpin. to:
- Commit fraud — including using false identities, stolen payment methods, or misrepresenting events
- Purchase tickets for the purpose of reselling at inflated prices (ticket touting/scalping)
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to purchase tickets or harvest data without our permission
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or reverse-engineer any security feature of the platform
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or any content designed to disrupt the service
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users or jumpin. staff
- Create fake events or fake accounts
- Violate any applicable Ghanaian law or regulation
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Use the platform in a way that unreasonably burdens our infrastructure
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement authorities.
9. User content
9.1 Your content
You retain ownership of content you upload to jumpin. (event descriptions, cover images, profile photos). By uploading content, you grant jumpin. a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, transform, and distribute that content for the purpose of providing the service.
This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we are required to retain it by law or where it has been shared with third parties in the normal course of providing the service.
9.2 Content standards
You are responsible for the content you upload. Content must not:
- Infringe on any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right
- Be defamatory, obscene, or fraudulent
- Contain images of identifiable persons without their consent
- Violate any person's privacy
9.3 Content removal
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these standards, with or without notice. If you believe content on jumpin. infringes your rights, contact us at legal@jumpin.today.
10. Intellectual property
The jumpin. name, logo, design system, and all original platform content (excluding user-submitted content) are owned by jumpin. or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from jumpin.'s proprietary content without our prior written permission.
Nothing in these terms grants you any right, title, or interest in jumpin.'s intellectual property.
11. Third-party services
jumpin. integrates with third-party services including Paystack, Supabase, Cloudinary, Google, and others. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and policies. jumpin. is not responsible for the conduct of third-party services.
Links to external websites on jumpin. are provided for convenience. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content of external sites.
Google AdSense displays advertisements on public pages of jumpin. The advertisers and their products are independent of jumpin., and we are not responsible for the accuracy of or any claim made in advertisements.
12. Disclaimers
jumpin. is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by Ghanaian law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:
- Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
- Any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Any warranty regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of event listings
We do not warrant that events listed on jumpin. will take place as advertised, that organisers will deliver on their promises, or that venues will be safe and suitable. These matters are entirely the responsibility of event organisers.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Ghanaian law, jumpin. and its operators shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
- Damages arising from your reliance on information on jumpin.
- Damages arising from events that are cancelled, postponed, or fail to meet your expectations
- Damages arising from your interactions with other users or event venues
In any case, jumpin.'s total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific ticket purchase giving rise to the claim, or GH₵200, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless jumpin. and its operators from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of jumpin. in violation of these terms
- Your event (if you are an organiser), including any injury, property damage, or legal claim arising from it
- Content you upload or information you provide that turns out to be false, misleading, or infringing
15. Termination
You may close your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone, or by emailing hello@jumpin.today.
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these terms or our policies
- We are required to do so by law
- We reasonably believe your account poses a risk of fraud or harm to other users
- Your account has been inactive for more than 24 months (with notice)
Upon termination, your access to the service ends. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination will do so, including Sections 10 (Intellectual property), 12 (Disclaimers), 13 (Limitation of liability), and 14 (Indemnity).
If you are an organiser with active events at the time of termination, we will make reasonable efforts to notify your ticket holders and facilitate refunds.
16. Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of jumpin. shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
Before initiating any legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at legal@jumpin.today and give us 30 days to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. This does not limit your ability to seek emergency injunctive relief.
For disputes between attendees and organisers (for example, about a cancelled event or a refused entry), jumpin. may attempt to mediate at its discretion but is not obligated to do so and is not liable for the outcome.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Send an email notification to registered users
- Show a notice on the platform for at least 14 days
Your continued use of jumpin. after the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using jumpin. and close your account before the effective date.
If you have active events published on jumpin. at the time of a material fee change, the original fee rate continues to apply to those events until they end.
